چکیده

• The development of catheterization and indicator dilution techniques has made it possible to measure the volume of circulating blood within many organs in the intact animal. Hirche and Lochner injected measured amounts of dye into the coronary arteries of dogs and recorded the subsequent time course of dye concentration in blood from the coronary sinus. From this single curve both coronary blood flow and mean coronary circulation time were obtained, and the corresponding volume of circulating coronary blood was calculated. In the present studies circulating coronary blood volume (CCBV) was measured in dogs by a somewhat different approach, using independent isotope and dye injection methods to measure the rate of coronary blood flow and the coronary circulation time.

Evaluation of Extracellular Circulating Human MicroRNA-197 as a Target Biomarker in Patients with Coronary Artery Disease

Background:  Coronary Artery Disease (CAD) refers to the reduction or blockage of all or part of the coronary arteries due to the process of atherosclerosis or the presence of a clot. The aim of this study was to investigate the association of serum miR-197 as a diagnostic index in patients with coronary artery disease. Methods: In this study, 100 patients with CAD were selected. Extraction of...

Circulating monocytes and in-stent neointima after coronary stent implantation.

OBJECTIVES The aim of this study was to investigate the relationship between circulating monocytes and in-stent neointimal volume at six-month follow-up. BACKGROUND In-stent neointimal hyperplasia is the main contributing factor to in-stent restenosis. There is increasing evidence that white blood cells (WBCs), especially monocytes, play a central role in restenosis after stent implantation. ...

Inverse association between circulating levels of soluble receptor for advanced glycation end-products and coronary plaque burden.

AIM Low levels of soluble receptor for advanced glycation end-products (sRAGE) have been reported to be associated with coronary artery disease (CAD) and peripheral atherosclerosis. This study explored the relationship between circulating levels of sRAGE and the characteristics of coronary vessels detected by 64-slice computed tomography angiography (CTA). METHODS In this cross-sectional stud...

Dynamics of atrial peptide secretion in the coronary circulation of the conscious dog.

The secretion of atrial natriuretic peptide by the heart is not simply the arterial-coronary sinus concentration difference times coronary blood flow, because only a small fraction of total coronary blood flow passes through the atria. We measured coronary sinus and arterial plasma atrial natriuretic factor (ANF) concentrations and blood flow to each part of the heart using the radioactive micr...

Immature platelet fraction: a new prognostic marker in acute coronary syndrome.

The role of platelets in the pathogenesis of acute coronary syndrome (ACS) is well recognized. Persistent platelet activation despite antithrombotic therapy has an influence on the severity of ischemic cardiomyopathy. Reticulated platelets are the youngest form of circulating platelets. They are larger than senescent platelets, contain residual RNA that confers a reticulated appearance, and are...
